Clarification/Correction Regarding Audio Transmission Between Israeli Navy and Flotilla on 31 May 2010, Posted on 5 June 2010

Audio released by the Israel Defense Force on June 4th, 2010 of a radio transmission between the Israeli Navy vessel and the Flotilla ships in which members of the IDF were told to quote “shut up,  go back to Auschwitz” and “we’re helping Arabs go against the US, don’t forget 9/11.” After the release some have called into question the the authenticity of the audio.

To help clarify, yes the audio was cut down from the full length recording to remove pauses, silence, and incomprehensible chatter. The original recording was 5 minutes and 58 seconds long and is available on the official IDF website.

Originally it was believed that the source of the transmission was the Mavi Marmara ship but due to the nature of the open channels this can not be stated with absolute certainty.

Both version of the transmission, the edited and full length recordings, have been made available by the IDF via the following links.
