Motorcycling in Israel

Israeli Motorcyclists

Israel is a diverse place. People from other parts of the world often get caught up in the fighting and conflict and forget that there is a rich culture, beautiful scenery, and of course the rich history. And just like other countries of the world over, Israel can be seen from the seat of a motorcycle.

When the idea of a motorcycle tour is brought up it is most often associated with bikers in black leather crossing the American Wild West and they forget that a motorcycle is a common way to tour many parts of the world and many consider it the ONLY way to see the world. With options to either rent a bike locally or as many have done, to ship your bike over for a ride, Israel has many unique and beautiful places to see and experience. Featured in an article in Motorcyclist Magazine back in 2010 titled “HOLY HARLEY – RIDING HIGH ON THE HOG IN THE HOLY LAND“, author Jack Lewis road a Harley Davidson around our wonderful country.

What riders should be aware of that like the American West it can get warm and its very easy to dehydrated while enjoying the trip so prepare yourself by bringing lots of water and stopping often to hydrate. Motorcycle gear can be a double edged sword where one must balance protection with comfort. Make sure to wear appropriate safety gear that will also breath and allow air flow to help combat the heat. When you get to the open areas of the county, out on “the open road” as they say be conscious of debris in the road and if you chose to wear one of the popular ‘half helmet’ style helmet a bandanna over your face, or better still pickup one of the many motorcycle masks available on the market, to protect you.

Riding in Israel is a great way to experience the country and a great way to feel alive.
