As a business owner, you have a fiduciary responsibility to your shareholders and business partners. This means that you have a responsibility to operate your business in a way that will benefit all the owners of the business, including shareholders, investors, and partners. These fiduciary duties are designed to maintain a level of trust and loyalty between all concerned parties, and using your business for pure selfish means can constitute a breach of those duties and leave you in a lot of trouble. Encouraging breaks, offering vacation time, and getting to know them personally are a few great methods of caring for employees that will pay dividends to your business in the long run.
