Dead Body Found at Apple HQ – Police Investigate Possible Gunshot
A dead body has been discovered at Apple’s headquarters located at 1 Infinite Loop. A 911 dispatch call to Apple’s headquarters suggests a possible suicide.TMZ reports:
According to the sheriff’s dispatch call there was a female employee involved in an argument on the campus — and she was being escorted out by security when she sustained a head wound … possibly from a gunshot.
As deputies were responded, they were unclear if there were multiple people involved. One portion of the dispatch exchange describes a body being found in a conference room, and that person had a gun.
The Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office is running the investigation.
Apple Insider says that a crew from the Santa Clara County Fire Department — which includes emergency medical services — was reportedly dispatched to the campus, but were “waved off.” It’s not clear who made that call.
ABC7 reported that the body was found in a conference room, adding that authorities said the victim was a man and that a gun was found next to his body.

It is unknown at this time if this was a potential workplace mass shooting incident or a argument gone horribly wrong.
Apple’s (AAPL) stock recently fell nearly 7% after news of the first drop in iPhone sales. Apple recently announced a smaller iPhone SE in hopes to gain sales in emerging markets. The company is pinning its hopes on new apps, software, and an upcoming iPhone 7 to boost its revenues.
Apple has taken numerous political stances against the recent North Carolina bathroom law and its notorious fight with the FBI over encryption and unlocking of the San Bernardino terrorist iPhone. If a gun was used on the Apple campus, this may ignite the California gun debate as people wonder how a gun was snuck onto the iconic tech company campus.
Apple reportedly employs over 10,000 people in Cupertino, California and over 100,000 worldwide.
Update 4:23 p.m. EDT: An anonymous Apple employee told the Mercury News that “most employees do not know who died and that employees have been given the option of taking the rest of the day off.” Apple is also offering grief counseling.
This story will be updated as more details of the incident at Apple are made public.
