Donald Trump thinks Michelle Fields could have had an explosive pen. In an election that has bordered on insanity, the GOP frontrunner has accused a reporter from a friendly conservative publication of being a potential threat.
Trump, speaking at a CNN town hall event, said former Breitbart reporter Michelle Fields had been holding a pen when she approached him with a question earlier this month at an event in Florida. “She had a pen in her hand, which Secret Service is not liking because they don’t know what it is, whether it’s a little bomb,” Trump said. “Michelle Fields, by the way, is not a baby.”
This new Trump outrage comes on the heels of his campaign manager Corey Lewandowski was charged with simple battery. The charge leveled against him after Michelle Fields filed a police report accusing him of grabbing her arm and causing bruising. Trump, refusing to back down and distance himself from his campaign manager accused Michelle of penetrating the incident.
Donald Trump’s campaign manager may have responded the way he did due to his law enforcement background. Lewandowski graduated from the New Hampshire police academy and worked as a seasonal New Hampshire Marine Patrol Officer Trainee. His PR job was not enough for his adventurous life and so he pursued a part time job teaching boat safety and checking boater registrations.
Is hiding an explosive device in a pen possible? Actually yes it is.
Here is an example of a explosive pen that would frighten most people.
Reporters have a tough job. They need to gain access to public figures who are guarded by security in order to get a question answered. Getting ahead on a story often requires pushing their way to the front and confronting the subject to get a quote. Katrina Pierson, Trump’s campaign spokesperson has said that even she has been bumped and cut in the press scrum covering campaigns.
This level of violent action against Michelle Fields has been condemned by many conservatives and legal action has been taken against the aggressive perpetrator.
Being a political figure can be dangerous. In 2008, George W. Bush was attacked by a reporter in Iraq. This reporter was angry with Bush and used his shoes as weapons to assault the President.
George W. Bush dodged the attack before his security swarmed the assailant. Michelle Fields was closer to Trump at the time and it seems like it would be hard to miss the saftey orange colored candidate if that was her intention. Most Americans are smart enough to know that was not the case.
Trump should leave blaming female victims to Hillary.
