Kerry calls GOP race ‘An Embarrassment’ – Just like his Iran deal

John Kerry is embarrassed by GOP primary

Failed Presidential candidate and Secretary of State John Kerry has called the Republican primary race ‘An Embarrassment’. During his appearance on CBS’s “Face the Nation” Kerry called out GOP candidates. He claims that foreign leaders are “shocked” by campaign rhetoric used.

“They don’t know where it’s taking the United States of America,” Kerry said. “It upsets people’s sense of equilibrium about our steadiness, about our reliability, and to some degree I must say to you, some of the questions, the way they’re posed to me, it’s clear to me that what’s happening is an embarrassment to our country.”

John Kerry ran against President George W. Bush in 2000. Many democrats blamed his loss on the infamous Florida recount and subsequent Supreme Court battle.

Kerry recently oversaw the Iran nuclear compromise, a deal that allowed billions of dollars to flow to a country that has openly stated it wants to wipe Israel off the map. His plea to congress may just be the one of the biggest embarrassments of  the Obama administration. Kerry warned congress that if they did not approve the deal that “we will have proven we’re not trustworthy”.

He later clarified in an interview with The Atlantic:

“They don’t know where it’s taking the United States of America,” Kerry said. “It upsets people’s sense of equilibrium about our steadiness, about our reliability, and to some degree I must say to you, some of the questions, the way they’re posed to me, it’s clear to me that what’s happening is an embarrassment to our country.”

Kerry also said that his chief Iranian interlocutor, the foreign minister, Javad Zarif, and Zarif’s boss, the (relatively) reformist president, Hassan Rouhani, would be in “serious trouble” at home if the deal falls through. Zarif, Kerry told me, explicitly promised him that Iran will engage with the United States and its Arab allies on a range of regional issues, should Congress approve the deal. “Zarif specifically said to me in the last two weeks, ‘If we get this finished, I am now empowered to work with and talk to you about regional issues.’” Kerry went on, “This is in Congress’s hands. If Congress says no, Congress will shut that down, shut off that conversation, set this back, and set in motion a series of inevitables about what would happen with respect to Iranian behavior, and, by the way, the sanctions will be over.”

It is outrageous that Kerry cared more about Iran’s oppressive leaders than the citizens of his own country. Kerry must have taken Obama’s apologetic message a little too seriously.

Kerry’s hypocrisy should be expected. As Hillary Clinton’s unsuccessful successor, he has overseen the rise of ISIS,  the legitimization of the Castro regime, and birth of Donald Trump’s campaign. His legacy is embarrassing.
