The Devil is trying to steal Marco Rubio’s Delegates

Marco Rubio’s hard won delegates are under attack by the Cruz campaign. Desperately clinging to a convention fight, Ted Cruz sent his father down to Puerto Rico to try and convince Rubio’s delegates to vote for him on the second ballot.

Rubio won Puerto Rico with over 71% of the vote earning him 23 delegates. Even though he suspended his campaign over a month ago, he still maintains a delegate lead over John Kasich who continues on in the GOP race. According to the rules, the Puerto Rico delegates are bound to Marco Rubio in the first ballot. After that they can vote how they like. Ted Cruz currently needs 104% of the remaining delegates to reach the 1,237 threshold necessary to win the nomination outright.

Texas Sen. Ted Cruz has been unable to convince Republicans that he is the best candidate to beat Hillary Clinton in the general election. His smug attempts to persuade voters have enabled Donald Trump’s insurgent campaign to beat him a majority of states. With the delegate math completely against him, Cruz is trying to steal the election by coercing delegates with his snake oil to join his side against Donald Trump.

John Boehner, the former republican house speaker called Ted Cruz “Lucifer in the flesh”. Cruz’s contempt for reason  has turned the republican party into a mess and created potentially irreversible damage. The “Lucifer” moniker may be an accurate description of a man who used deception to convince voters that they were not a real republican if they did not subscribe to his brand of right wing extremism. He branded Marco Rubio as not a “true conservative” by flooding voters with mailers misrepresenting Rubio’s record. Just like “Lucifer” uses deception to steal souls, Cruz twisted the truth about Marco to take out the GOP’s best candidate to beat Clinton.

Ted Cruz threw caution to the wind yesterday and prematurely announced a running mate in an effort to change the conversation about his losing streak. He annouced that Carly Fiorina, the former HP chief executive, would be his VP pick. Fiorina, a better choice for president than Cruz, had been supporting him over the last month at campaign stops.

Will the devil succeed in convincing voters who did not support him that he should take the reigns of the party? Rafael Cruz, Ted’s father, visited Puerto Rico and met with many of the 23 delegates to convince them that it is the Lord’s will that Cruz becomes the nominee. If Puerto Rico was wise enough to overwhelmingly support Rubio, they may be smart enough to reject the devil disguised as a preacher.
