Air Show Coming to Rexburg on Saturday

REXBURG — A free air show featuring aerobatic planes and military fighter planes will come to Rexburg on Saturday.

The recurring event starts at 10 a.m. at the Rexburg Airport.

“I’d recommend showing up closer to 9 (a.m.) with consideration of parking,” ground boss Glenn Embrue tells EastIdahoNews.com.

First thing in the morning will be aerobatics performed by pilots Buck Roetman and Brad Wursten. The two will display arial aerobatics like loops, rolls, spins and hammerheads.

The afternoon show consists of military craft with the following planes: P-38 Lightning, Corsair F4U, Lockheed Lodestar Bomber, two Boeing Stearmans, Twin Beach Transporter, BT-13, Cessna Bird Dog, P-51, Grumman Tracker and a Douglas DC-3.

The Legacy Flight Museum will be selling rides on the DC-3 for $350 per person.

This year’s airshow will also feature a pyrotechnics bombing display. Air Boss John Bagley says the planes won’t actually be bombing anything, though a ground crew will simulate a bombing similar to those experienced during World War II.

Gift shop souvenirs and food will be for sale near the Legacy Flight Museum at 400 Airport Road.

Madison Pipe and Drum Corps will bring a closing to the show by honoring veterans and military personnel who were not able to return from service.
