Bryon Reed for Bonneville County Commissioner

An Idaho native with Idaho values, Bryon Reed is running for Bonneville County Commissioner Seat 3. Idaho voters living in Bonneville County go to the polls on May 17.

Reed has lived and worked in Bonneville County his entire life, and he upholds traditional values: faith, family, and freedom. He’s a local businessman who has achieved success and a trusted name through hard work, leadership, and principles. He is well known and respected throughout the community for his real-world experience and conservative values.

“I am a conservative Republican and proudly support Republican values,” Reed says. “I stand by the constitution and believe that James Madison, Thomas Jefferson, John Adams and others were inspired to establish the freedoms we enjoy today. It is our duty to defend these freedoms.”

Some of Idaho’s top leaders support Reed’s campaign. “I could not be more pleased to hear that Bryon Reed is willing to serve Bonneville County as a county commissioner,” says Idaho Senate Majority Leader Bart Davis. “I plan to support him. I hope others will too.”

Reed is well poised to take a county commissioner seat thanks to his years of service to Bonneville County. “Being a native of this area, actively participating in community affairs, and having experience in both agricultural production and ag-related business, Bryon is prepared to assume responsibility for the administration of county activities,” says local farming leader Don Dixon. “His years of service on Bonneville County boards and several agency committees have familiarized Reed with the requirements for serving in the position of County Commissioner.”

Reed’s civic involvement includes serving in his church and community, and working with several organizations including the University of Idaho Extension Farm Management, the Idaho Grain Producers Association, Bonneville County Planning and Zoning Commission, and the Potato Growers of Idaho.

Reed’s concern for Bonneville County and its residents is personal. “I want to help ensure a positive future for Bonneville County,” Reed says. “My family has lived in this county for over 100 years. I have been able to raise my children here, and I have participated in all the great activities our county has to offer. I would like those same opportunities for future generations.”

Among the initiatives Reed proposes to improve an already strong county is increased transparency. One of his goals is to improve technology so that people have easier access to ordinances and other public information. This includes video streaming county meetings, updating emergency services, and revamping a “somewhat antiquated” county website.

“It’s important that we elect commissioners that first have a good, strong work ethic and will put in the time necessary, attend the meetings, and do what’s needed for the county,” Reed says, pointing to his years of experience on various boards. “I like to be involved in productive activities, and I’d like to use that experience to be able to continue to grow this county.”

Bryon Reed is running against Tony Potts, a Idaho Falls businessman for Lee Staker’s open County Commissioner seat. Staker is retiring after two decades of public service.
