The battle of the spouses escalated as the National Enquirer published a sex scandal story about Ted Cruz having multiple mistresses. Fist a super PAC ran photos of Trump’s naked wife. Then Donald Trump responded by threatening to the spill the beans on Ted Cruz’s wife. Now the race to the bottom has begun its death spiral. Meanwhile Democratic contender Hillary Clinton waits in the wings grinning while her emails continue their slow drip leaks.
Lyin’ Ted Cruz just used a picture of Melania from a G.Q. shoot in his ad. Be careful, Lyin’ Ted, or I will spill the beans on your wife!

The United States presidential primary elections got even more heated today. Denials of the Ted Cruz sex scandal by media personalities, a supposed victim who serves as Donald Trump’s spokesperson and Ted Cruz himself.
Cruz on Enquirer piece: “It is garbage, complete & utter lies. It is a tabloid smear and it has come from Donald Trump and his henchmen.” — Alexandra Jaffe (@ajjaffe) March 25, 2016
Of course the National Enquirer story is 100% FALSE!!! I only speak to myself, however.

Katrina Pierson, at the heart of the alleged scandal used to work for Sen. Ted Cruz. She switch sides and joined the Trump campaign as the Cruz / Trump bromance was splitting up. Rumours of this former aid had been swirling on Twitter by Rubio supports the week before, referring to it as “the thing”.
The story broke in the National Enquirer, a newsstand tabloid that rivals The Onion. The credibility of the story has been challenged in part due to Donald Trump’s ties the the paper. New York Magazine says: Trump and Enquirer CEO David Pecker have been friends for years. “They’re very close,” said a source close to the Enquirer. In July 2013, Trump even tweeted that Pecker should become CEO of Time magazine, which at the time was being spun off from its corporate parent, Time Warner. “He’d make it exciting and win awards!”
Ted Cruz was supported by Josh Duggar, another christian activist engulfed by a sex scandal.
However incredible this story sounds, a good lie is often based on a nugget of truth. The National Enquirer broke the news of the John Edwards sex scandal. The 2008 presidential contender and former Democratic VP nominee eventually admitted to having an affair with his videographer while his wife was dying of cancer.
The insanity of the GOP race has led many to long for a brokered convention where a well behaved politician like Mitt Romney, Paul Ryan, or Marco Rubio may arise as the nominee. Donald Trump has created a break in the normally tidy ranks of the GOP. It may be time for the party to right it’s own ship.
